Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey (CPNJ) is an organization that has been dedicated to helping individuals with severe disabilities since 1953. They work to enhance the lives of those less fortunate than others. Assisting them with personal growth, independence, and semi-integration in the community is of the utmost importance to this organization. Fundraising is a key factor in helping this organization positively impact the lives of these individuals with disabilities.
CPNJ’s High School and Horizon Elementary School are located in Livingston. As a Town Council member, I attend local events at these schools frequently. Last year, I was asked to be on the committee for their main fundraising event of the year. It was a privilege to be part of such a powerful and compassionate group of community leaders. All the members came from different occupations and neighboring towns to rally behind this cause. The fundraiser was successful and we raised over 1 million dollars in just one evening.
Recently, I was asked to be on the committee again for this coming year. The goal is to exceed last year’s money raised to further benefit their schools. The money is used to make their lives better as evident of their heartwarming montage played at the fundraiser, they are doing just that. These individuals are smiling and continue to grow with the efforts and charity of others. In one photo displayed now on their website, many students were in cap and gowns graduating from their school.
