Corey Swanson joined Locks Law Firm in December of 2023 as a member of the firm’s benzene litigation and IT teams, after relocating from Tampa, Florida. Corey’s educational background is in I.T. and Law. He received his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Florida State University, before attending law school at Florida Coastal School of Law. He graduated from Florida Coastal in 2017 with his Juris Doctorate. Corey’s education and experience bring a unique perspective to our firm and makes him a great fit in both of his roles. Corey is a great asset in legal technology and discovery in a rapidly expanding area of litigation like Benzene exposure, along with mass torts litigation generally.
Corey works directly with partner and benzene team leader, Andrew DuPont, as well as Chief Technology Officer, Leon Carelli. Corey is a dedicated team mate who is as concerned with helping others as he is working hard. He is proficient in legal research, document drafting and preparation, case management, conducting discovery, and client interaction. As assistant to the CTO Corey is instrumental in the day to day IT operations and the firm, solving complex issues and addressing general technology needs. His friendly demeanor and positive attitude have been very well received by clients, his colleagues at the firm, and the Philadelphia legal community generally.
Outside of the office Corey is dedicated to health and fitness. As a former member of the Florida State University varsity swim team, and hailing from a large family of swimmers with competitive spirits who enjoy spending time on the water in any capacity, he maintains an active healthy lifestyle. Corey catches up with his family any chance he has an opportunity, often boating and fishing together in the Florida sunshine. On land, you can find Corey competing in fun social activities, like cornhole and ultimate frisbee.
